About Scientists Say...
Who or what are Scientists Say...?
Shortly put, we are a group of friends that enjoy hanging out and playing retro games. However, to really understand us, one must start at the beginning...
The Beginning
Scientists Say... began as a Rock Band...band in the year 2007. You can learn more about that phase from our hilarious mockumentary serious
historical documentary on the subject:
Members soon began adopting "scientist names" of famous scientists as stage names to enhance their performance.
Today
Today, Scientists Say... has evolved from it's Rock Band roots. There are currently only two permanent members in the band, but there are a plethora of rotating guest scientists that make apperances.
Currently Scientists Say... have turned to more of an online presence and Retro Gaming. We can be found on YouTube and Twitch and post new content weekly, usually on Tuesdays. The Tesla also streams on Twitch nearly nightly a segment we refer to as "Scientists Say... Radio" where he shows off his mad skills at Rock Band 3 and 4. See the Segments section below for more information.
Lastly, if you are interested in seeing Scientists Say... in person, we still attend monthly Rock Band Karaoke at Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade in Portland, OR.
Segments
Current and regular segments that can be found on YouTube and Twitch are:
- This Movie's Gonna Suck - A YouTube series where The Tesla and The Sagan review movie trailers for upcoming movies.
- Scientists Play... - The Sagan or The Tesla will usually solo play a game (usually a retro one) for YouTube or Twitch
- Scientists Say... Radio - The Tesla's near nightly Rock Band Twitch stream. While The Tesla is on camera and rocking out, The Sagan will provide snarky commentary from chat and interact with the audience. All moderated by our Twitch chat bot TeddyRoosebot. Starting around 1AM PST and going until ??? (Requests welcome!)
- Shocktober - An annual segment spanning October 1st to the 31st of each year. Video production (usually) ramps up during this time and we put out more horror related content. All culminating in a Live Stream on or around Halloween. This Year: The live stream will be on Twitch (and YouTube) and feature all available Scientists playing through Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location.
